About Me

I am a licensed psychologist specializing in individual therapy and maintain a private practice in the St. Cloud, MN area. I earned my bachelor’s degree from the University of Tulsa, and earned both my masters and doctoral degrees in counseling psychology at Iowa State University.

I am licensed in the state of Minnesota (LP 4367), and have more than 15 years of experience. I have been certified in Behavioral Sleep Medicine since October of 2014, and have been working part-time at the Sleep Center in St. Cloud since 2011.

I tend to rely heavily on Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques when treating issues like depression, anxiety, and insomnia because these techniques have consistently been found in research studies to be an effective treatment for these disorders.

I also tend to favor a biopsychosocial model, which means I consider a person’s family history, his/her personality, thoughts and feelings, and his/her environmental influences (ex., family, friends, culture) when seeking to understand how one responds to life stressors. I recognize that each person is unique, and that many things go into making that person who he/she is. I view counseling as a collaborative process between therapist and client; you may be coming to me because of my expertise, but I will also come to you because you are the expert on you.
